UC Men's Golf Takes Home 4th at Bronco Invitational

Delhi, NY (4/12/2013) - The Utica College golf team placed 4th overall at The SUNY Delhi Bronco Invitational on Friday hosted at The College Golf Course at Delhi.  Freshman Charles Coppola led the way for the Pioneers with a team-low round of 79, good for a 6th placed tie in the individual event.  Utica team "A" posted 356 points at the six team meet.  

UC's Ryan Stalker shot an 87 to take home 18th place overall, while Christian Leogrande carded a score of 90 to place third for the Pioneers (Leogrande also tied for 19th overall).  Thomas Klosek tied for 26th with a score of 96 and Robert Broccoli, who joined Klosek on Utica's "B" team, registered a 97 for 24th place overall. 

Kevin Stone and Benton Kentron each carded a 100 for the Pioneers and Chris Gibbs rounded out the UC scoring with a round of 109 at the 6,459 yard course.

Delhi won the event with a team score of 292.  James Patridge, of Delhi, took home medalist honors with a five-under par round of 67. The Broncos placed six golfers in the top seven finishers of the individual event. 

The Pioneers return to the course on April 20 when they participate in the Empire 8 Conference Championships at the Hershey Country Club.
