Royals Tune Up For Upcoming Glenmaura Invitational By Downing King's & BBC Today
MOOSIC, Pa.—The University of Scranton tuned up for this weekend’s Glenmaura Invitational by downing King’s College, 346-373,and Baptist Bible College, 346-373, today at Glenmaura National Golf Club.
Junior Kevin Kucharski (Hampton, NJ/North Hunterdon) led the Royals with an 81. He was followed in the lineup by juniorGrant Gulick (Binghamton, NY/Johnson City) with an 87, junior Brandon Gano (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan)had an 88, and senior co-captain Justin Riley (Haymarket, Va./Battlefield) rounded out the scoring with a 90.
Scranton also received a 91 from junior Andrew Loyack (Greenfield Township, Pa./Scranton Preparatory) and a 93 from junior Daniel Penetar (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Preparatory).
Luke Peterson of Baptist Bible College earned medalist honors with a five-over-par 76, while Joe Caffrey led King’s with an 86.
This Sunday and Monday, the Royals will be one of 12 teams competing in the annual Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational. Scranton is two-time defending champion.
