ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The 20th-ranked Ithaca College baseball team (22-5) saw its 18-game winning streak come to an end Tuesday night with an 8-6 loss at Rochester (11-14). The Bombers scored five times in the top of the first, but the Yellowjackets answered with four in the bottom of the inning and went on to the win. Ithaca's 18-game winning streak is tied for the second-best single-season winning streak in program history, just four games short of the 22-game mark established in 1987.

The five-run first started with two walks and an error to bring in one run, and then catcher Corey Caswell hit a three-run homer to left center. Max Addy followed that up by reaching base on a single and scoring on an RBI hit by Andrew Turner.

The Yellowjackets scored four runs on four hits to chase Ithaca starter Jasper Adams in the bottom of the first.

Ithaca added a single run in the third when Turner doubled and came in to score on a base hit by Christian Brown.

Rochester scored twice in the fifth to tie the game, and took advantage of an error to score the go-ahead run in the sixth. They added an insurance run with the aid of two errors in the eighth. The Bombers committed six errors in the game.

Andrew Sanders pitched 6.2 innings in relief of Adams and allowed just six hits and three runs, only one of those runs was earned. He walked three and had one strikeout. Matt Colbert pitched the bottom of the eighth and had two strikeouts.

Addy had three hits and scored a run for the Bombers, and also stole a base. Caswell was 2-for-5 with the three-run homer and Turner was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Ithaca returns to action Wednesday at Brockport and hosts St. John Fisher for Empire 8 doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday at Freeman Field.
