Padgett, Owusu Pace Pioneers at Coach P Open

Bethlehem, PA (4-13-13)- Seniors Hunter Padgett and Sylvester Owusu-Afriyie led the Utica College men’s track & Field team at the Coach P Open hosted by Moravian College on Saturday.
Padgett finished third in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:53.00, while Owusu took sixth, with a time of 10.92, in the 100-meter dash. Rob Tutein had an impressive showing in the high jump, with a leap of 1.98 meters.
Andrew Hoover (15.46) and Frank Volino Jr. (18.25) finished sixth and eighth in the 110 meter hurdles, respectively. Hoover also took home fifth place in the 400 hurdles (55.93).
Morgan Payne (15:43.61) and Eric Stevens (15:49.25) placed in the top ten in the 5,000 meter run and the 4x400 team of Christian Lesperance, Trevor Gibson, Andrew Hoover, and Brandon Rudolphe placed fourth (3:26.86).
The Pioneers travel to Rochester, NY next weekend for the Empire 8 Championships. The gun is set to go off at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
