NAZARETH v HOUGHTON
Nazareth scored the game's first 15 goals Tuesday at Houghton as the Golden Flyers had little difficulty evening their overall record at 6-6 with a 19-4 victory over the Highlanders in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

Nazareth, at 6-6 overall, plays on the road again Saturday at Stevens at 1 p.m. Houghton is 0-10.

Senior Erinn Wood had two goals and four assists and junior Kelsey McNaboe scored three times. Seniors Alyssa Johnston and Megan Cregan each scored twice as did junior Alex McFaddin and freshman Carly Gates. The game also featured the first career goal for senior Shelby Robinson, who also produced three saves in the second half as the Golden Flyers' goalie.

Cregan scored for the Golden Flyers just 10 seconds into the contest and the Golden Flyers tallied seven times before the game was six minutes old. Wood had two goals and two assists in the early flurry and Cregan added her second goal.

A goal by Gates with 5:30 left in the first half pushed Nazareth's lead to 15-0 before the Highlanders finally broke through on a goal by Amanda Zacchigna with 3:26 left in the half. Robinson then added her goal with :27 left in the half.

Nazareth had advantages in shots (31-15), ground balls (30-24) and draw controls (14-10). Junior goalie Tara Prosak had five ground balls and five saves in the first half. Robinson, Gates, McFaddin and Hannah Prince each had three ground balls.


ITHACA v WILLIAM SMITH
The 13th-ranked Ithaca College women's lacrosse team (8-4) won its fourth straight game Tuesday defeating host William Smith (7-5), 14-6, at Boswell Field.

The Bombers powered to an early 5-0 lead to charge to a 5-1 gap at intermission. Ithaca added four more to open the second stint for a 9-1 margin at 21:43. The Herons scored four of the next five to pull within 10-5, but the Bombers tallied three straight and four of the last five scores for a 14-6 final.

Six players won draw controls as Ithaca owned an 18-4 edge in the category. Senior Michelle Avery (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon) had a career- and game-high five draws, while seniorsNikki Dahl (Columbus, Ohio/The Wellington School) and Kim Armbruster (Boonton, N.J./Montville)added four each.

Freshman Allison Runyon (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) scored four and senior Tracy Rivas (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) and Dahl netted hat tricks. Armbruster and junior Becky Guzzo(Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) recorded two goals each. Rivas and Guzzo dished out a pair of assists apiece.

Armbruster, Dahl, junior Katie Long (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) and sophomore Natalie Lang (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) collected three ground balls each, with Long and Armbruster each forcing two caused turnovers.

Senior Jess Worthman (Commack, N.Y./Hauppauge) made six stops to earn the win in goal.

Ithaca outshot William Smith, 29-21, and held a 20-16 edge in ground balls.

The Bombers return to action Friday, April 19 hosting Empire 8 opponent Elmira at Higgins Stadium at 4 p.m.
