E8 Honors for DuPont and Prosak
Sophomore Morgan DuPont of the Utica College women's lacrosse team was named the Empire 8 Player of the Week and junior Tara Prosak of Nazareth College was named the Goalie of the Week for their performances during the week of April 9-14.
DuPont registered nine points in a 1-1 week for the Pioneers. She recorded seven assists in just two games, including three against conference-leading Ithaca College on April 13. Earlier in the week she scored two goals and added four assists in Utica's 18-5 win against SUNYIT. She leads the team with 36 points (20 goals, 16 assists) on the season and has one game-winning goal.
The Pioneers are 7-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference. They have two Empire 8 Conference games this weekend. On Friday, UC hosts Alfred University at 4 p.m. On Saturday, the Pioneers will faceoff against Elmira College at 1 p.m. Both games will be played at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
Prosak made a career-high 15 saves in last Saturday's 12-8 road loss to St. John Fisher. She pushed her save percentage for the season to .512. It marks the second time this season that Prosak has been recognized by the Empire 8.
The Golden Flyers return to action Tuesday, April 16 to play at Houghton at 5 p.m.
