Villeneuve Picks up First Place; Pioneers Compete at Coach P Open

Bethlehem, PA (4-13-13)- Freshman Ashton Villeneuve led UC with a first place finish in the 5,000 meter run , Saturday at the Coach P Open, hosted by Moravian College.
Sarah Wiatr (10.72 meters) and Chelsea Bogino (10.62 meters) took home fourth and fifth place, respectively, in the triple jump.
Kelcei Edmonds finished eighth in the discuss with a heave of 33.33 meters. Jaimee Balloni 2:23.07 also picked up eighth place in the 800-meter run.
Villeneuve qualified for the ECAC Championships with a first place finish (18:24.36) in the 5,000 meter run, while classmate Sarah DePalma (19:29.06) took home eighth place.
The Pioneers travel to Rochester, NY next weekend for the Empire 8 Championships. The gun is set to go off at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
