Bombers Hit 13 ECAC Qualifiers, Dominate at Moravian Coach P Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Ithaca College women’s track & field team competed at Moravian’s Coach P Invitational Friday and Saturday. The Bombers met 13 ECAC qualifiers during the meet.

Sophomore Emilia Scheemaker won the triple jump and set a meet record with a mark of 11.56 meters.

Freshman Brooke Zimmerman won the javelin throw with a toss of 39.31 meters.

Senior Amanda Rissmeyer finished second in the high jump with a clear of 1.63 meters and third in the long jump with a mark of 5.51 meters. Freshman Kayla Prior finished fifth in the long with a leap of 5.25 meters.

Sophomore Corrine Taylor placed fourth with a mark of 11.78 meters in the shot put.

On the track, Ithaca hit seven ECAC standards – four individual and three relay.

Senior Tammia Hubbard placed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a finish of 15.01. Sophomore Leigh Martino placed seventh with a time of 16.84. She met the ECAC qualifier in the preliminaries with a time of 16.00.

Ithaca placed two in the 400. Senior Jenn Randall placed fourth and rookie Eliza Dewart finished sixth with times of 58.95 and 59.24.

Ithaca’s 4x400 team of junior Martyann Chromik, freshman Christine Kelly, Randall and Dewart clocked a first-place finish of 3:55.73. The Ithaca B team of sophomore Kristen Swanson, Martino, senior Rachel Spirito and sophomore Brittany Greene also hit the ECAC mark in the race with a third-place finish of 4:06.72.

The Bombers’ 4x100 relay team of sophomore Rachel Friedman, Dewart, Kelly and freshman Sarah Werner finished third in the event crossing the finish line in 49.46.

The Bombers will return to action on Saturday, April 20 at the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships hosted by Nazareth.
