UC T & F Prepares for E8's at Nearby Hamilton

Clinton, NY (4-17-13) – Freshman Christian Lesperance, junior Andrew Hoover and freshman Frank Volino, Jr. took second, third and fourth in the 400 meter dash Wednesday while sophomore specialist Kyle Sikes tallied second in the javelin throw to pace the Utica College men’s track and field teams in nearby Clinton, NY at the Hamilton Invite.
Lesperance took second, just. 01 shy of the victory, with a clock of 50.76 while Hoover trailed in third (52.22) and Volino in fourth (53.60) in the 400 meter dash at the Pritchard Track.
Sikes, UC’s everyday pole vaulted, posted a hurl of 37.51 in the javelin throw for a second place finish.
Junior Donald Devries earned fourth place in the hammer throw with a mark of 36.01.
UC heads to Rochester, NY Saturday for the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships hosted by Nazareth College. The competition will be held at the Golden Flyer Stadium with the events set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
