Lemmo and Rush Honored by the E8 with Weekly Awards
The Empire 8 Conference has honored Ithaca senior Pat Lemmo and St. John Fisher College junior Brad Rush with Pitcher and Player of the week honors for the week of March 25-31.
Lemmo had seven strikeouts, allowed six hits and one earned run in 10 innings of the Bombers' 2-1 win in 13 innings over Oswego Friday. Four of the six hits he allowed were infield hits.
Rush batted 6-for-12 this week in four games for Fisher. He recorded at least one hit in each game, extending his hit streak to five games and marking the 15th game with a hit this season.
In the opener against the Stevens Institute of Technology on Friday, Rush picked up his sixth double of the season to help the Cardinals to a 10-7 win. He then added a RBI single in a 9-5 loss.
Rush hit two home runs on Saturday, a solo shot in Fisher's 6-1 win over the Ducks, and a three-run homer in the 6-5 loss. He completed the four game series with five runs scores, six RBI, two walks, a .533 on-base percentage and 1.083 slugging percentage.
