Fisher Battles Back To Win McDaniel Invitational

The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College men’s golf team shot a 305 on Sunday and finished with a two-day total of 608, good enough for a first-place finish at the McDaniel Spring Invitational in Abbottstown, Pa.
 
Fisher, ranked 18th in the latest national coaches poll, shot a 303 on Saturday and trailed New York University by one stroke going into the final round, but the Violets shot a 314 and finished eight strokes off the lead.
 
Chris Blyth shot a 74 on Sunday and was the tournament’s medalist, finishing at 149 (+5).   Thad Wier shaved five strokes off his 78 on Saturday and finished tied for second overall at +7 (151).   

Josh Rathbun, the tournament’s leader after the opening round, finished in eighth place (74-80-154), while Corey Haas and Joseph Radulski posted identical scores for the second straight round (77-79-156) and tied for 14th.
