Susquehanna Places Ninth at McDaniel Spring Invite
ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – The Susquehanna men’s golf team wrapped-up play at the two-day McDaniel Spring Invitational and finished tied for ninth.
SU tied with Stevens for ninth out of 13 teams with a two-day score of 661 on the par 72, 6713-yard Bridge Golf Club course. St. John Fisher won the event by eight strokes with a score of 608. New York University was runner-up with its team score of 616.
Daniel Wilson (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) and
Stephen Welkie (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) were 30
th and 31
st, respectively, with scores of 162 and 163 with Welkie shooting a team-best 79 on Saturday. The team was without its fifth golfer,
Anthony Canarie (South Portland, Maine/South Portland), for the second round of action on Sunday.
Donny DeRemer (Shavertown, Pa./Holy Redeemer) shot a 168 and was followed by
Timothy Unkles (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernards), who shot a 182.
The Crusaders return to action on April 7-8 at the Hershey Cup.
