Stevens and Ithaca Ranked in Latest USILA Poll; Fisher and Nazareth Receiving Votes

The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) released its weekly top 20 poll and the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s team improved two spots to No. 10, while Ithaca College moved up one spot to No. 14.  St. John Fisher College and Nazareth College are among teams also receiving votes.

Stevens rolled to a 22-8 victory over Alfred University on the Empire 8 Conference opener for both teams on March 30.

The Ducks will be back on the field on April 6 at 1 p.m. for another Empire 8 matchup as they St. John Fisher.

The Bombers defeated Oswego 6-5 in overtime on Tuesday at Higgins Stadium, before suffering a 10-8 loss to 14th-ranked Cabrini Friday.

The Bombers return to action on Wednesday, April 3 hosting Alfred in its Empire 8 opener.

Fisher won its E8 opener on March 30, as the Cardinals picked up a 12-7 win over visiting Hartwick College.  After trailing 4-2 during the second quarter, Fisher scored 10 of the game's next 11 goals to take control. With the win, Fisher improved to 7-2 overall.

Fisher will return to action at 4 p.m. on Wednesday and will host Elmira College before traveling to Stevens.

Nazareth went 1-1 last week as the Golden Flyers defeated Utica College on March 27, 14-8 before suffering a 25-15 loss to third ranked RIT on March 30.
