Nazareth Joins Stevens in National Rankings; Ithaca Receiving Votes
USILA rankings
For the first time this season, Nazareth's men's lacrosse team has cracked the top 20 in the latest Division III rankings compiled by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. The Golden Flyers are ranked 17th, while Stevens Institute of Technology continues to be ranked and stands at No. 11. Ithaca College is one of ten teams also receiving votes.
The Golden Flyers won their fourth straight game and improved to 10-4 overall with last Saturday's 17-8 home-field victory over then-No. 6 Stevens. The Golden Flyers also have solid victories over 16th-ranked St. Lawrence, then-No. 14 Springfield and Ithaca.
Nazareth is 5-0 in Empire 8 Conference games and can be no worse than the second seed for the Empire 8 Conference Tournament that starts May 1. The Golden Flyers visit St. John Fisher Wednesday for a 7 p.m. faceoff, then return home to host Elmira Saturday at 1 p.m.
Stevens will host Hartwick College on April 24 at 7 p.m. and then wrap up the regular season with a battle against Ithaca on the 27th at 2 p.m. The Bombers will first play their final regular-season home game April 24 hosting Elmira at 4 p.m.
