Pioneers Split with Keuka; Ithaca Beats Oswego

UTICA v KEUKA
The Utica College baseball team snapped a six game slide on Wednesday after splitting a pair of games against visiting Keuka College.  Utica freshman Matthew DeMartino ripped a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning of game two to complete the Pioneers come from behind rally.  UC trailed by as many as four runs in the top of the third inning before beginning its charge.  Utica’s Riley Kevil went 2-for-2 and hit his first collegiate home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to spark the Pioneer rally. 

DeMartino finished the day going 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs.  UC’s Vincent Burillo continued to swing a hot stick as he went 3-for-6 with four RBIs and two runs scored over the course of two games. 


ITHACA v OSWEGO
The 18th-ranked Ithaca College baseball team completed a sweep of a two-game season series against Oswego with a 7-1 victory on Wednesday afternoon at Laker Baseball Field. The Bombers broke the game open with four runs in the seventh inning. Ithaca has won 23 of its last 25 games, including a doubleheader sweep of Oswego back on March 29.

Bomber starter Pat Lemmo worked eight innings and allowed just one run on five hits. The Lakers' run came in the bottom of the second inning on a leadoff single and two errors. Lemmo had two strikeouts and didn't walk a batter. 

Tim Locastro was 2-for-5 and drove in three runs on the day. Corey Caswell and Andrew Turner also had two hits each.
