Nazareth downs Alfred, 8-1; Fisher Beats Elmira 5-4
NAZARETH v ALFRED
Nazareth made short work of visiting Alfred in an Empire 8 Conference men's tennis match Tuesday as the Golden Flyers won five singles matches in straight sets.
Nazareth improved to 6-9 overall and 5-1 in the Empire 8. Alfred is 4-9 overall and 1-4 in conference matches.

Jeremy Mancus each won in singles and doubles as did junior
Erik Manske and freshman
Tyler Williams.

Scott Trobert also won at sixth singles 6-0, 6-1 and senior
Bret Beaver and sophomore
Matt Jennings reamed up for a point on third doubles.
ST. JOHN FISHER v ELMIRA
The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team battled back for a 5-4 win over visiting Elmira College on Tuesday, earning a pivotal victory in the Empire 8 Conference standings.
With the win, Fisher improves to 3-2 in the Empire 8, while Elmira falls to 2-4. The Cardinals are currently alone in fourth place with the top four teams at the end of the regular season advancing to the Empire 8 Championship.
Freshman
Nathaniel Ligon earned the deciding point. He won in three sets (6-3, 3-6, 6-2) at fifth singles to seal the win.
Greg Duffy was victorious (6-3, 6-3) at first singles, while Dan Parshall rallied for a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 win at second singles. The senior duo also combined to claim Fisher's lone point in the double competition - an 8-6 victory at second doubles.
Patrick McGrath also won in three sets – 6-7 (7-5), 6-1, 6-4 – at third singles.
Fisher returns to action on Thursday at Alfred University in another must-win Empire 8 match.
