BOX SCORE
The St. John Fisher College baseball team scored four runs in the top of the 10th inning to earn a 12-8 win over host Rochester Institute of Technology on Thursday afternoon.  With the win, Fisher improves to 18-12 overall, while the Tigers fall to a 10-15.

It was a wild game to say the least.  Fisher led 5-0 going in the sixth inning, but the Tigers scored four in the bottom-half of the frame on three hits and two errors.  The Tigers tied it in the seventh inning and made it seven straight runs with two more in the bottom of the eighth.

Trailing 7-5 and down to its last three outs, Fisher rallied to take the lead.  Brad Rush, who walked to start the inning, scored on a wild pitch, while Sean Osterman, who reached on a single, tied the game up a triple down the line in left by Ben Webb.   Webb then scored the go-ahead run on another wild pitch.

The Cardinals were one strike away on two occasions in the ninth from winning it in regulation, but R.I.T.’s Ronnie Canestro singled, stole second and scored on a field error to forced extras.

In the 10th, Dave VanGorder walked and was lifted for pinch-runner Tom Kline, who scored the eventual game-winning run on a double from Osterman.  After Brad Rush scored on a throwing error, freshman Mike Roman blew the game open with a two-run single up the middle, scoring Osterman and Chris Roeder.

Zach Weaver closed out the game, retiring the final three batters.

Osterman led Fisher on the day with four hits and three runs scored. Roman finished with three hits and three RBI, while Rush scored three runs.  Ben Bostick and Mike Fahy each picked up two hits in the win.

Pitcher Shawn Corrigan earned his first win.  The junior-transfer pitched 1.1 innings, striking out three and didn’t allow an earned run.

Fisher returns to action with four games on Friday and Saturday with Houghton College.
