Mendon, NY (4-28-13) – The Utica College men’s golf team wrapped up its 2012-2013 campaign with a round of 338 on day-two of the Nazareth Invitational held at the prestige Mendon Golf Club in Rochester, NY. UC totaled a 685 placing fifth over the 36-hole, two-day event. The Pioneers were led Whitesboro native freshman Charles Coppola who shot 78 in his final tournament of his inaugural campaign.
Coppola totaled a 157 and finished 10th overall, over the 36 holes, carding rounds of 79 on Saturday and 78 on Sunday. Sophomore captain Christian Leogrande placed second for UC and 20th overall with cards of 84, on Saturday, and an 83 on day two. Freshman Robert Broccoli turned in cards of 85 and 90 totaling 175 and tied for 26th overall.
Utica concludes its 2012-13 campaign with its third best round of the season. The Pioneers opened up the season with a 327 as the host of the UC Fall Invite and followed up two weeks later with a 337 in the first round of the E8 Golf Championships at the Yahnundasis Golf Club.
