Three Empire 8 Athletic Conference athletes have been named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Week for the week of March 25-31.

Softball Division III – Upstate


Player of the Week
Kayla Goodberlet - St. John Fisher College
Senior, Third baseman, Columbus, OH

Goodberlet hit six home runs over four games including two multi HR outings to lead the Cardinals to a 5-1 week. Over the course of six games she racked up 12 RBI and batted 10-for-15 (.667), which led to an impressive slugging percentage of 2.067. She led the way against Rochester on March 27, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two runs batted in during the first game. In the nightcap, she finished with two hits and scored three times, including the first run of the game with a solo shot in the first inning. On March 28, Goodberlet became the 10th player in NCAA Division III softball history to hit two home runs in the same inning, as the Cardinals cruised to two wins over visiting Medaille College.  Goodberlet went 3-for-4 with three home runs and six RBI in the two games, including two home runs in the first inning of the first game. On March 30, she drew two intentional walks after hitting two home runs against RIT. She finished the series 3-of-4 from the plate with three RBI.


Pitcher of the Week
Alex Puglisi – Elmira College
Junior, Shelton, CT

Puglisi earned three shutout wins, including two over Utica College, as she struck out 25 batters while allowing just seven hits. Against Morrisville she gave up one hit, while striking out 10 batters in the 8-0 shutout win Friday evening. On Saturday against Utica she pitched 14 straight innings allowing only six hits, while striking out 15 batters. She helped Elmira earn a 1-0 victory and 4-0 victory over the Pioneers. In 39 innings pitched so far this season she has allowed only 19 hits and six runs, while striking out 44 batters and earning an ERA of 0.72.



Women's Lacrosse Division III Mid-Atlantic

Defensive Player of the Week
Tara Prosak – Nazareth College
Junior, Goalie, Jamesville, N.Y. 

Prosak made 18 saves in 90 minutes of action for a 69.2 save percentage. She had a season-high 14 saves in Nazareth's 9-8 non-conference win over RIT on March 26. Prosak had four saves and allowed no goals in the first half of Saturday's 17-3 win over Alfred.
