St. John Fisher College's Chris Roeder and Ithaca College's Jimmy Wagner have been recognized by the Empire 8 Conference for their outstanding efforts on the diamond.  Roeder was tabbed Player of the Week, while Wagner was chosen Pitcher of the Week.

Roeder, Fisher's starting shortstop, led the baseball team to five wins in six games, while posting a .545 batting average (12-for-22) with seven RBI.

He is currently on a seven-game hitting streak with multiple hit games in four of his last five. He also scored seven times and stole two bases with three walks.

His best day at the plate came on Saturday in doubleheader-sweep of Houghton College.  In the two wins, he was 5-for-8 with four RBI and three runs scored.  In Fisher's lone loss of the week - a 4-3 decision to The College at Brockport -- Roeder was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  He also led Fisher defensively, throwing out two runners at the plate and preventing runs from scoring.

Wagner appeared in two games for the Bombers and had seven strikeouts in seven innings of work. He started on the mound against New Paltz and pitched six innings, allowing just one run, and striking out five to earn his eighth win. He also pitched an inning of relief with two strikeouts in a win over Oswego. Wagner finished with a 1.29 ERA on the week as he allowed one earned run and one walk.
