Robert Pinto Leaps in High Jump at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 26, 2013) – Stevens Institute of Technology sophomore Robert Pinto (Staten Island, N.Y.) took part in Day Two at the Penn Relays on Friday morning against 20 other competitors. Student-athletes from all the NCAA Divisions were represented in the high jump event.

Pinto placed 11th overall with a cleared bar of 1.96 meters (6 feet, 5 inches) and was one of eight participants to meet that mark. He was one of four Division III athletes to compete in the high jump and the only one to post a mark. Pinto was just 1.75 inches from finishing in the top six.

Manhattan University’s Mohamed Koita won the high jump with an event record leap of 2.20 meters (7’ 2.5”).
