More Records Established By Fisher At Cardinal Classic

Several record were set by the St. John Fisher College men’s track and field team on Saturday at the 2013 Cardinal Classic.  Fisher hosted the event at the College’s Polisseni Track and Field Complex, the first track and field meet ever held at the facility.

Freshman Trevor Wilkes won the 400 meters and qualified for ECACs, posting a College-record time of 49.79.   It also a new facility record.

Chris Wehner, who qualified for ECACs earlier this year, took seventh overall in 110 hurdles with a time of 15.29 seconds, breaking the Fisher record by .05 seconds.

Kyle Barry took fourth in the javelin at 46.30 meters, .11 meters shy of the Fisher record.

Matthew Hebert finished fourth overall in the 5,000, finishing in 15:42, shattering the Fisher record by nearly two whole minutes.

In the 400 hurdles, Will Sterricker finished third overall with a  time of 56.43 (new Fisher record).   Dylan Cassidy was fifth in the event, while Robert Battaglia took home sixth-place honors.  All three hurdlers met NYSCTC A Standard.

Kyle Koehler was sixth in the shot put at 13.92 meters.
