Luna Places 13th at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 27, 2013) - Stevens Institute of Technology senior
Sebastian Luna (Wood-Ridge, N.J.) competed at the Penn Relays on Sunday as the lone Stevens student-athlete in action on the final day of the meet. Luna took part in the javelin event against 25 other participants through all three NCAA Divisions.
Luna recorded a throw of 59.17 meters (194 feet, 1 inch) to finish 13th overall and third among DIII athletes. He finished the event ahead of nine Division I competitors.
Cornell University's Rob Robbins won the javelin with a mark of 70.68 meters (231 feet, 10 inches) and topped the next closest athlete by nearly seven meters or a conversion of 22 feet.
Both Stevens teams will compete again at the SUNY Oneonta May Meet on May 11.
