Cornelius Takes Third At NYSCTC Championship In Decathlon
St. John Fisher College's Devin Cornelius of the men's track and field team finished third in the decathlon on Tuesday in the NYSCTC Championship, hosted by Ithaca College.
The freshman earned six points for the Cardinals in the two-day, 10-event competition and finished with a total of 5,761 points, setting a new College record in the event and most likely qualified for ECACs.
Cornelius, who was in first after day one, set personal records in four different events, including the 100 (11.36), the 400 (51.68), the javelin (33.06) and the 1,500 (432).
The rest of the men's and women's team will head down to Ithaca this weekend for the remainder of the competition.
