Bombers Meet Eight ECAC Qualifiers at Ithaca Tuesday Meet

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women’s track & field team hosted Ithaca’s Tuesday Meet at Butterfield Stadium where it met eight ECAC qualifiers and won seven events.
Bombers hit a trio of ECAC qualifiers in the 100-meter hurdles. Senior Tammia Hubbard ran to a 15.18 finish to win the event. Sophomore Christine Benway was the runner-up with a 15.56 finish and freshman Emily Ziegler placed fourth with a time of 15.81.
Two met the ECAC standard in the hammer throw. Junior Elaine Abdulky won the hammer with a toss of 47.87 meters and senior Colleen Garman finished second with a heave of 45.16 meters.
Freshman Brooke Zimmerman won the javelin with an ECAC-qualifying throw of 41.83 meters.
Ithaca’s 4x100 relay team of sophomore Rachel Friedman and freshmen Eliza Dewart, Christine Kelly and Sarah Werner won the race with an ECAC-good time of 49.40.
Freshman Alex Rechen cleared the ECAC standard in the pole vault with a height of 3.25 meters to place second.
Sophomore Angela Mammino won the 200 dash in 27.55. Freshman Jaime Lisack took gold in the 1,500 with a finish of 5:15.29. Junior Rachel Brown had the best performance in the long jump with a 4.49-meter jump.
The Bombers will be sending student-athletes to compete in the historic Penn Relays April 24-26.
