Ithaca Women's Track & Field Team Competes at Historic Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Ithaca College women’s track & field team competed in the six events at the Penn Relays -- meeting ECAC qualifiers in each of them.
Senior Amanda Rissmeyer placed fifth out of nine competitors in the heptathlon with 4,453 points that took place Tuesday and Wednesday. She finished the 100-meter hurdles in 16.12, cleared 1.65 meters in the high jump, threw 10.42 meters in the shot put and finished the 200 dash in 26.67 on day one of competition. On Wednesday, Rissmeyer jumped 5.03 meters in the long jump, threw 34.59 meters in the javelin and finished the 800 run in 2:43.85.
Ithaca’s 4x100 relay of Rachel Friedman, Eliza Dewart, Christine Kelly and Sarah Werner clocked a 49.99 finish to place sixth in its heat and 64th overall.
The Bombers’ 4x400 relay of Leigh Martino, Kelly, Jenn Randall and Dewart crossed the finish line in 3:59.67.
Sophomore Alexa Rick finished the 5,000 run in 17:44.34 to place 29th.
Freshman Brooke Zimmerman placed 20th out of 33 competitors in the javelin with a 38.38 meter throw.
Senior Carly Graham finished eighth in the 3,000 steeplechase with a finish of 11:36.98.
The Bombers will continue competition Friday.
