Ithaca Opens Conference Play With Win At Elmira
ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College men's tennis team (2-8, 1-0 Empire 8) began its conference season with an 8-1 dual-match win Thursday at Elmira (2-2, 0-1 Empire 8). The Bombers swept the doubles matches and won five of six in singles play.
Griffin Reid, Justin Levine, Chris Hayes and David Andersen each posted wins in both singles and doubles play. Andersen and Levine were 8-6 winners at first doubles. Reid teamed with Zach Lipson to win second doubles and Hayes partnered with Joseph Hanf to win at third doubles.
All of the singles victories came in straight sets. In addition to the four winners previously mentioned, David Keltz was a 6-3, 7-6 winner at sixth singles.
The Bombers return to action Saturday with a home dual-match at 11 a.m. against the Rochester Institute of Technology.
