Moravian Ties for 7th at Elizabethtown Spring Blue Jay Classic

HUMMELSTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team tied for seventh of 16 teams competing at the 2013 Elizabethtown College Spring Blue Jay Classic played Hershey Links Thursday.

The Greyhounds had a team score of 322 and were tied with Cabrini College and Penn State Harrisburg. Messiah College won the tournament with a score of 293, and Messiah's Austin Galaska was the medalist with a three-under par round of 69.

Individually for Moravian, freshman Jim Maru was tied for 11th of the 88 golfers with a four-over par round of 76 on the par 72 course. Freshman Evan Dickinsonwas tied for 18th with a 78 while senior Aaron Thieme was tied for 31st with a round of 80. Senior Tyler Thompson carded an 88 to finish in a tie for 68th while junior Eric Schultz was tied for 76th with a 93 for the Greyhounds.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, April 9th at the Cabrini Spring Classic at the Rivercrest Golf Club.
