Ithaca Men's T&F Squad Competes at Cortland Red Dragon Open & Multi

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men’s track & field team competed at Cortland’s Red Dragon Open & Multi Friday and Saturday. Ithaca had 14 top-five finishes during the meet.
Seniors Alec Svoboda and Rad Arrindell competed Friday and Saturday in the decathlon. Svoboda won the event with a tally of 5,405, defeating the second-place finisher by more than 400 points. Arrindell placed third out of seven competitors with 4,848 points. Following Friday's competition, Svoboda was first with 2,892 points through five events. Arrindell was in fourth with 2,754 points.
Friday, freshman Sawyer Hitchcock won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:02.07. Senior Mark Vorensky followed in fourth with a time of 10:33.65.
Sophomore Kevin Davis placed third in the 200 dash and fourth in the 100. He finished the 200 in 23.30 and the 100 in 11.63.
Freshman Larkin Bohanan ran fifth in the 800 run in 1:59.45. He teamed with freshman Ndue Palushi, sophomore Anthony Altobelli and rookie Zane Scott to finish fourth with a time of 3:45.32 in the 1,600 relay.
Junior John Luis Damaskos clocked a 53.41 finish in the 400 to place fourth. Scott was fifth with a time of 54.43.
The Bombers had four with top-five finishes in the pole vault. Sophomore Reid Beattie was third with a 3.90-meter clear. Sophomore Steven Episcopo followed in fourth with a height of 3.70 meters. Sophomore Marcus Hogan and senior Ben Van De Water finished tied for fifth having cleared 3.50 meters.
