Rochester, NY (4/6/13) - The Utica College women’s track and field team placed seventh out of 14 teams at the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational Saturday.  Freshman Sarah Wiatr led the way with first, second and fourth place finishes in three different events.

In the 100-meter dash, Waitr was narrowly edged out of the lead and finished second with a time of 13.19.  Anea Isom was fourth (13.34), and Jess Ciraulo (13.41) finished in sixth place.

In the 200-meter dash, Anastasia Bowden was Utica’s top finished, placing fourth (26.75) and Wiatr came in eighth (27.30).  Jaime Balloni earned eighth place in the 800-meter run (2:23.95), and Ciraulo picke up second place marks in the 100-meter hurdles (15.31).

Chelsea Bogino finished in sixth place in the long jump with a final leap of 4.84 meters, before Wiatr capped off the day finishing first in the triple jump (10.87 meters).  Bogino also placed fourth, just .62 meters shy of Wiatr’s mark.

The Pioneers will travel to Bethlehem, PA next weekend for the “Coach P Open” hosted by Moravian College.  The events will begin at 4 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.
