Ithaca Women's T&F Team Soars to First in USTFCCCA Atlantic Region Rankings

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Ithaca College women's track & field team ranks first in week five of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Atlantic Region poll announced Wednesday. Ithaca ranked fourth in the week four poll.

The Bombers have six top-20 performances receiving national recognition thus far this season. Sophomore Emilia Scheemaker ranks third nationally with a school-record mark of 12.17 meters in the triple jump. Rookie Brooke Zimmerman is 10th in the javelin with a season-best toss of 41.83 meters. Senior Amanda Rissmeyer sits 15th with a 4,453-point performance in the heptathlon. Classmate Jenn Randall ranks 10th in the 800-meter run and 18th in the 1,500 with times of 2:12.98 and 4:35.81, respectively. The Bombers' 4x400 relay of Martyann Chromik, Christine Kelly, Randall and Eliza Dewart sits 16th with a finish of 3:55.73.

Ithaca will compete Friday and Saturday, May 3-4 at the NYSCTC Outdoor Championships hosted by St. Lawrence.
