CoSIDA and Capital One Honor Three From Empire 8

CoSIDA and Capital One have released its annual Academic All-District softball teams, with one Ithaca College and two St. John Fisher College student athletes making the list.  Senior Jennifer Boindi represents the Bombers, while Sarah Fordyce and Sarah Stefanon represent the Cardinals.

Biondi was selected to the team witha  3.72 GPA in Occupational Therapy. She ranked second in the Empire 8 in runs in conference play with 14 and sixth with 15 hits. She ranked second on the team overall in runs (30) and led the team with five stolen bases.

Fordyce, a senior, earns the honor with a 3.70 GPA in accounting.  Fordyce led the Cardinals with 58 hits, 13 home runs and a batting average of .400.  Her .759 slugging percentage and 110 total bases were also top on the team.  In addition, her .460 on base percentage, 34 runs scored, 43 RBI, nine doubles, two triples and 17 walks were second overall.

Stefanon earns the honor after her best season in cardinal and gold.  With a 3.36 GPA in management, Stefanon was one of the top pitchers in the nation this season.  The senior totaled 290 strikeouts in 36 appearances, with an ERA of just 0.91.  She only allowed 29 earned runs in those games with 34 bases on balls.
