Stevens Outdoor Track & Field Competes at SUNY Oneonta

ONEONTA, N.Y. (May 11, 2013) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s and women’s outdoor track & field teams traveled to SUNY Oneonta to compete in the school’s May Meet on Saturday afternoon in Upstate New York. Two members of the women’s team set school records, while a men’s student-athlete posted a meet record mark and another won his event.
For the women, senior
Ashley Princiotta (Manalapan, N.J.) broke her own school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 11:51.33 to place fourth overall. Freshman
Amy Regan (Green Brook, N.J.) also surpassed her own school standard in the 1,500-meter run with a second place time of 4:51.41.
Junior
Rebecca Tylock (Shrewsbury, Mass.) tied for second in the pole vault event with a mark of 3.13 meters (10 feet, 3.25 inches), while freshman
Alexandra Doyle (Colts Neck, N.J.) took third overall in the javelin with a mark of 33.99 meters (111’ 6”).
Rounding out the highlights of the meet on the women’s side were senior
Grace Python (Glenmont, N.Y.) and freshman
Kate Moyer (Long Valley, N.J.). Python tallied a toss of 44.85 meters (147’ 2”) in the hammer throw to finish in fourth, while Moyer crossed the line in eighth with a time of 19:01.74 in the 5,000-meter run.
On the men’s side, senior
Sebastian Luna (Wood-Ridge, N.J.) set a meet record in the javelin with a first place showing and throw of 58.69 meters (192' 7"). Freshman
Shane Chiaravalle (Danbury, Conn.) came in first overall in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.23 seconds in his first career attempt at the event.
Sophomore
Robert Pinto (Staten Island, N.Y.) put together a strong all-around meet in three events. Pinto placed second in the high jump with a mark of 1.93 meters (6’ 4”), fourth in the long jump with a leap of 6.31 meters (20’ 8.5”) and ran a leg on the seventh place 4x100-meter relay team.

Walter Goodwin (Floral Park, N.Y.) and senior
Victor Servito (Teaneck, N.J.) posted a time of 43.86 seconds in the relay. Servito also finished eighth in the long jump with a mark of 5.73 meters (18’ 9.75”).
Freshman
Mohamed Skokry (Fairview, N.J.) competed in the triple jump and took fifth with a distance of 11.61 meters (38’ 1.25”). Senior
Andrew Kraemer (Budd Lake, N.J.) finished seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 40.33 meters (132’ 4”), while fellow senior
Joel Oquendo (North Bergen, N.J.) came in eighth with a toss of 37.41 meters (122’ 9”) in the discus event.
Both squads compete at the ECAC Outdoor Championships on May 16-17 in Springfield, Mass. before the NCAA Championships begin at the end of May.
