St. John Fisher College men’s field student athlete Kyle Koehler qualified for ECACs in the shot put on Saturday afternoon in the Oneonta State May Meet. More Cardinals’ track and field athletes will qualify for ECACs when results become official on Monday.

Koehler qualified for ECACs with a shot put throw of 14.62 meters.  He already owned the Fisher record for shot put distance, previously tossing 14.45 meters during the indoor season at the NYSCTC Track and Field Championships in February.

The new Fisher record of 14.62 meters puts Koehler ranked 88th in the nation and is the 11th best distance for freshman in the country.

Koehler and his teammates will look to participate in next weekend’s ECAC Championship.
