Fourteen ECAC Performances Highlight Women's T&F Performance at Oneonta

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women’s track & field team met 14 ECAC qualifiers Saturday at the Oneonta May Meet.

Senior Jenn Randall won the 800-meter run in a facility and meet record time of 2:11.55. Classmate Rachel Spirito followed in sixth place with a 2:19.00 finish.

Rookie Brooke Zimmerman won the javelin with a throw of 38.35 meters. Sophomore Emilia Scheemaker placed first in the long jump with a mark of 5.24 meters.

Ithaca’s 4x100 team of sophomore Rachel Friedman and freshmen Eliza Dewart, Christine Kelly and Sarah Werner won the relay in 49.01.

Senior Amanda Rissmeyer was the runner-up in the high jump. She cleared 1.63 meters.

Junior Elaine Abdulky placed second in the discus with a heave of 36.65 meters and finished fifth in the hammer with a 43.74-meter toss. Senior Colleen Garman followed in sixth with a 43.71-meter throw.

Senior Tammia Hubbard ran third in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:04.57. She also placed third in the 100 hurdles in 15.43. Sophomore Christine Benway followed in fourth and freshman Emily Ziegler in fifth with times of 15.45 and 15.72.

The Bombers’ 4x400 relay team of Kelly, junior Martyann Chromik, Randall and Dewart placed third with a time of 3:53.67.

The Bombers will compete Thursday and Friday, May 16-17 at the ECAC Outdoor Championships hosted by Springfield.
