Philippi Named First Team All-American; USILA Honors 12 From Empire 8
USILA All-American Teams
The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) released its 2013 All-American teams earlier today and 12 Empire 8 student-athletes were recognized. Stevens Institute of Technology senior
Nicholas Philippi highlighted the teams with a first-team selection.
Philippi becomes the second Stevens student-athlete in as many seasons to be named First-Team USILA All-America after the best season of his career as a Duck. He garnered first-team honors in the Empire 8 Conference after a 74-point season on 54 goals and 20 assists.

Rich Dupras found a spot on this year's third-team. He finished his senior campaign with 69 points on 40 goals and 29 assists.

Chris Peterson represented the Golden Flyers as honorable mention recipients. And completing the 2013 honorees for the Empire 8 were St. John Fisher juniors

Dorne tallied 53 points in 2013 on 44 goals and nine assists.
Wacenske anchored the Bomber defense that allowed just 6.89 scores per contest, the 19th fewest nationally. He forced a team-high 30 turnovers and scooped up 58 ground balls to go with his three goals and three assists.
Long ranked second on the team with 44 points with a Bomber-best 37 goals to go with seven assists. He collected 25 ground balls in 2013.
Wooters enjoyed a record-breaking campaign in his first season with the Golden Flyers as he amassed a team-best 93 points, including a Nazareth single-season record 64 goals. Earlier this spring he was chosen as E8 Rookie of the Year.
Simoneau broke a couple of school records as he totaled 240 ground balls and won 314 face-offs. He also was selected E8 Player of the Year and had nine goals and two assists.
Clark was the Golden Flyers' top-scoring midfielder in 2013 with 53 points on 31 goals and 22 assists. He also was a first-team E8 Conference all-star.
Peterson, a short-stick defensive specialist, Peterson appeared in all 20 games and produced 10 goals and six assists with 37 ground balls. He also was a first-team E8 Conference all-star.
Wester led the Cardinals in in points (66), goals (35) and assists (31). Blood anchored a defense that allowed just 7.63 goals per game while causing 10 turnovers while collecting 17 groundballs.
In 13 games overall on the year, Spadoni had 50 groundballs and 40 caused turnovers and the Saxons went 7-6 and earned a berth in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship tournament.
