Four to Represent E8 in IWLCA North South Senior Game Sunday

RADNOR, Pa. – Ithaca's Kim Armbruster and Tracy Rivas, Nazareth's Alyssa Johnson and Stevens Institute of Technology Spencer Waybright have been chosen to represent the Empire 8 in the 2013 IWLCA North South Senior Game. Selected to the north team, all four will take the field for a 2 p.m. game Sunday, May 26 at Cabrini College.

An All-Empire 8 honorable mention selection, Armbruster scored 34 points this season to rank fourth on the squad. She found the back of the net 29 times, highlighted by two game-winners, and dished out five assists. She won 34 draws for the Blue & Gold, while scooping up 27 ground balls and forcing 10 turnovers. 

A two-time IWLCA All-Empire Region First-Team selection, Rivas became Ithaca's all-time leading scorer in goals and points this season. She concluded her career with 184 goals and 67 assist for 251 points. Her assists rank fourth all-time. Rivas led the Bombers with 57 goals, the third-most single-season scores in program history, and chipped in 20 assists for 77 points. She added 35 ground balls, 13 draws and eight caused turnovers. Six of her goals were game-winners. Rivas, who was named to the E8 All-Tournament team, earned Empire 8 Player of the Year accolades for the second straight season.

Johnston was selected as a first-team Empire Region all-star and first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star this season. She led the Golden Flyers in scoring in 2013 with 65 point on 46 goals, 19 assists. She ranks fourth all-time at Nazareth in goals (155) and points (214).

Waybright – a second team All-American, first-team all Region and Empire 8 All Conference selection – led the Ducks to their sixth-straight conference tournament appearance and seventh postseason appearance overall. She finished the year ranked second in the Empire 8 in points with 81, fifth in goals with 51, second in assists (30), sixth in draw controls (49), 16th in caused turnovers (16) and 22nd in ground balls (32).  Waybright will graduate sixth in the Stevens program record book in points with 224.

This year's games will bring together 123 senior lacrosse players from Divisions I, II and III.
