UTICA
The Utica College men's cross country team, led by sophomore Kyle Cairns sixth place finish, came in second place overall in the team competition at the seventh annual Wildcat Invitational hosted by SUNYIT on Saturday morning.  Cairns finished with a time of 20:17 in the 6K race.  Freshman Josh Lee posted a top ten finish in his first collegiate race, placing ninth overall, with a time of 20:22. 

Senior Eric Stevens took home 12th place with a time of 20:31, while freshman Sam Anderson placed 16th with a time of 20:35.  Four of the Pioneers top six finishers were freshman.  Freshman Erik Winberg  placed 22nd overall (20:48) and freshman Jason Ortiz placed 28th with a time of 21:10.  Senior Morgan Payne came in just one second behind Ortiz, placing 29th. 

The Pioneers totaled 65 points and came in second behind SUNY ESF. 


STEVENS
 In the first meet of the 2013 season for Stevens Institute of Technology the Ducks placed third overall at the Father O'Neill Invitational hosted by Fairfield University on August 31. Stevens was the lone NCAA Division III team that competed at the meet.

Senior Louis Stengel paced the men in seventh overall. Thirty-nine student-athletes took part in the men's portion of the race.

For the men on the 5K course, Stengel completed the race in 17:11.16. The next six scoring runners for the Ducks all placed within the top 20. Freshman Andrew Parlette took 10th in a time of 17:23.69, while classmate Tom Flannery was 12th overall at 17:28.18.

Freshman Abe Lahood ran a time of 17:37.23 for 14th, junior Kevin Barresi followed in 15th in 17:43.24 and sophomore Kristopher Trautz trailed behind Barresi by less than a second at 17:44.09.

Stevens' final runner, freshman Drew Knipfer, posted a time of 17:48.74 for 19th overall.
