Elmira and Ithaca Earn Wins

The Elmira College women's soccer team opened their 2013 campaign in dominant fashion, defeating the Lycoming College Warriors 4-0 at Elmira College's Campus Field.
Mollie Hamilton spearheaded the offensive attack for the Soaring Eagles, recording her first career hat-trick and adding an assist as well. The win takes Elmira to 1-0 on the year and drops Lycoming to 0-2.
The Soaring Eagles peppered Warrior goalie Caitlin Dougherty with shots early on in the first half but the keeper held strong making three tough saves. Elmira finally broke through the barrier in the 17th minute when
Kelsie DeKarski got EC on the board. It all started after Hamilton stole possession at midfield. She carried the ball down the right sideline waiting for her teammates to get in position and then sent the ball into the box. DeKarski made a run towards the near post and volleyed the Hamilton service into the opposite corner, easily beating Dougherty.
Ithaca 2, Richard Stockton 1 (

The No. 10 Ithaca College women's soccer team (2-0) defeated Stockton (0-2) Saturday afternoon, dropping the Osprey by a score of 2-1 at Kean Alumni Stadium. Sophomore

Elisa Marchione scored in the 27th minute to give the Golden Flyers the lead midway through the first half against Allegheny. The Gators' Jamie Thiessen scored the equalizer with only 90 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime. Neither team was able to muster a shot in the first overtime session. Nazareth outshot Allegheny 4-1 in the second overtime.
William Smith 6, Stevens 2 (

The Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team dropped its second game of the season at The College of New Jersey Classic to nationally ranked No. 13 William Smith College, 6-2, on Saturday afternoon. Stevens went up, 2-1, early in the first half but William Smith rolled off four consecutive scores over the 78 minutes of the contest.
After the Herons netted the first goal of the match just 3:25 into the showdown, junior
Ann Heine knotted the contest up at 1-1 at the 10:22 mark off a pass from junior
Mariah Cleveland. Cleveland sent a strike off the crossbar where Heine was waiting to collect the rebound and beat William Smith's goalkeeper.
Not even two minutes later, freshman
Raba Nassif earned her first collegiate goal and staked Stevens to a 2-1 lead off a left-footed shot inside the box.

Weather wreaked havoc on the 10
th Annual Erinn K. Brozman Memorial Cup games today on Elmore Field.
In the opener, Utica College and Marywood University got in a scoreless first half and roughly ten minutes in the second half. A lightning delay, however, which lasted in excess of 90 minutes, forced the game's cancelation. It officially is listed as a "no contest."

Saturday's women's soccer game between Utica College and Marywood University was called due to weather. The teams played 55 scoreless minutes before lightning and rain forced officials to cancel the game.
UC outshot Marywood 4-2 before the game was halted in the 55th minute.
