The Ithaca College women's tennis team defeated Alfred 9-0 on Thursday evening in an Empire 8 dual match at Glazer Arena. Ithaca is off to a perfect 3-0 start in dual matches and hasn't dropped a single set this season in dual action.
The doubles teams of
Marni Blumenthal and
Allison Young along with
Alyssa Steinweis and
Allison Vizgaitis won their matches by 8-0 sxcores.
Carly Siegel and
Cristina Nunez added shutout victories in singles play, with Siegel winning 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles and Nunez doing the same at first singles.

Host Rochester dominated Nazareth Thursday in a non-conference women's tennis match. The Yellowjackets won all six singles contests in straight sets in a 9-0 victory over the Golden Flyers.
Nazareth, at 3-3 overall, visits Ithaca Saturday for an Empire 8 Conference match at 1 p.m.
Against Rochester, Nazareth played without its top singles player in senior
Alison Tepas, who has 95 career victories. That pushed everyone up one spot with the closest match coming at fourth singles, where senior
Krista Pagan lost 6-2, 6-3 to UR's Lauren Zickar.
Pagan and sophomore
Ami Petosa also lost a close match at second doubles, falling 8-6 to UR's tandem of Zickar and Janice Zhao.
