Nazareth 2, Hartwick 0 (Box Score)
Nazareth College earned its first win of the season defeating Hartwick 2-0 to improve to 1-3 overall.  The game was the first Empire 8 Conference game of the season for both teams and the Golden Flyers are now 1-0 while Hartwick falls to 2-3, and 0-1 in the conference.

The Golden Flyers, who were held scoreless in the first half of their first three games this season, turned up the offensive pressure this afternoon scoring both of their goals in the opening stanza of today's win.  Senior Jordan Ritchie scored her first goal of the season at 24:14 during a penalty corner opportunity.  Her goal was unassisted after she collected a rebound off of a defenders stick to find the back of the goal.

Freshman Kailee Coleman scored her first collegiate goal at 31:55 to put Nazareth up 2-0.  She was assisted by senior Sarah Wazenkewitz.

In an evenly matched game, both teams had 10 shots while Hartwick had an 11-6 advantage on penalty corners.

Ithaca 4, Elmira 0 (Box Score)
The Ithaca College field hockey team (5-0, 1-0) defeated Elmira (0-3, 0-1) Saturday afternoon, shutting out the Soaring Eagles by a score of 4-0 at Higgins Stadium.

Four different players scored for the Bombers, as sophomore Olivia Salindong, junior Amber Foose, senior Lindsay Flanagan and freshman Kelly Consadine all recorded goals in the victory. Freshman goalkeeper Katie Lass (5-0) didn't allow a goal in the win, giving the Bombers their second-straight shutout.

Utica 5, Houghton 0 (Box Score)
The Utica College field hockey team got back on track Saturday as it defeated Houghton College by an impressive 5-0 margin.  Becki Vivacqua  had two goals, and Hannah Mackey had one goal and three assists to propel the Pioneers.

UC got on the board early as junior Alaina Stojkovski found the back of the net just 2:06 into the game.  Mackey controlled the ball off a Utica corner and found Stojkosvki on the side of the net for her second of the year.  The Pioneers scored again off a set piece at 21:08 as Mackey set up sophomore Colleen Dowling for her second tally of the year.  UC caged its third goal of the half at 30:37 as junior Louise Steele-Norton brought the ball down the left side of the field.  At the goal line, she sent a centering pass into Vivacqua who tipped the ball in just over the goal line for her second of the year.

Utica continued its momentum into the second half as Mackey connected with Vivacqua to put the Pioneers up 4-0 with 20:33 to play in the game.  Just seven minutes later, Mackey corralled a loose ball from ten yards out, and lofted a high backhander over the head of Houghton keeper Emily Thompson and into the top of the net for her team-leading sixth goal of the season.

Kells Casey made two saves for the shutout win, while Thompson had nine saves in net for the Highlanders.  Utica improves to 4-1 on the season, while Houghton drops to 1-4.
