Hartwick 7, Wells 0
Angela Luizzi scored four goals to lead the women's soccer team as the Hawks defeated visiting Wells 7-0 in a non-conference contest on Sunday afternoon at Elmore Field. The Hawks improve their record to 2-1-2 while the Express fall to 1-5.

Also scoring for 'Wick on the afternoon were Cami Cleaveland , Jayme Bentley, and Taylor Pechtel . Bentley added one assist while Cristina Sicari assisted on two scores.

The Hawks controlled the game from the onset as they pounded shot after shot at Express goaltender Kylie Nishioka. Bentley broke through for the Hawks in the 10th minute when she hit a long hanging shot from the left side of the box that dropped into the goal to put 'Wick ahead 1-0. Cleaveland scored her fourth goal of the season in the 15th minute to give Hartwick a 2-0 advantage going into halftime.

In the second half, Luizzi put on a scoring clinic with two goals within a two and a half minute span between the 48th and 50th minutes. Luizzi added scores in the 83rd minute and with eight seconds remaining in the game sandwiched by Pechtel's first career goal in the 89th minute.

Hartwick dominated in shots, 40-1, and in corner kicks, 8-1. Luizzi had a whopping 14 shots in the contest with nine of those coming on goal.

Hope Brown had a quiet day in net with just one save. Nishioka had a career-high 17 saves for the Express.


Utica 0, Potsdam 0
For the second time in three games, the Utica College women's soccer team played to a draw as the Pioneers tied host SUNY Potsdam, 0-0 Sunday afternoon.

Freshman Jamie Enders made a game-high seven saves for her first collegiate shutout.  The Bears outshot the Pioneers 16-8 on the day.  Juniors Madisen Melley and Alana Fitzpatrick registered Utica's only shots on goal.  Lauren Haase and Michaela Cole combined for two saves for Potsdam. 

William Smith 1, Ithaca 0
The No. 5 Ithaca College women's soccer team (4-1) lost its first game of the season Sunday afternoon, falling by a score of 1-0 to No. 9 William Smith (4-1) in the final game of the Upstate Collegiate Cup Tournament. Senior Ellyn Grant-Keane led the Bombers with two shots on goal.

Sophomore Beth Coppolecchia made a career-high seven saves on eight shots in the loss. William Smith outshot Ithaca by an 8-4 margin.

The Herons scored the only goal of the match in the 29th minute, sneaking a shot past Coppolecchia on a shot from the right post. The Bombers registered two quality scoring chances in the second half, but were unable to convert in the final 45 minutes of play.
