St. John Fisher 5, Hartwick 4 (Box Score)
The St. John Fisher College women's tennis team used strong singles performances to defeat Hartwick, 5-4, Sunday at the Mendon Racquet Club. Fisher won four of six singles matches, and one doubles match to secure the victory.

Senior Lauren Burke and freshman Abbey Buscaglia won second doubles 8-4 and took care of business in their singles matches.  Buscaglia won third singles 6-1, 7-6, 7-5 while Burke won fourth singles 7-5, 6-1.

Katie Pasier and Catie Nonenmacher rounded out the scoring for Fisher.

With the win the Cardinals improve to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the Empire 8.


Stevens 9, Alfred 0 (Box Score)
The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team improved to 5-0 overall and 5-0 in the conference with a 9-0 shutout of Alfred University Sunday. The Ducks have now won 32 of their last 35 individual matches.

After a 9-0 shutout of Fisher less than 24 hours prior, the Ducks matched their effort. Senior Lisa Tessitore  and junior Jessica Bourque began to add on to their program-record doubles-win-total with an 8-1 tally at No. 1 against Brianna Ferguson and Rachel Cook. Junior Danielle Stewart and junior Elena Cocineva-Lenge topped Emily Eisenberg and Alex Smith by the same score. Closing out the doubles action was freshman Lily Bruenjes and sophomore Arden Servidio, making it three-straight by an 8-1 margin.

Bourque, Stewart, Cocineva, freshman Jillian Morneau and Bruenjes all earned straight-set wins, while Tessitore bested Cook 6-3, 2-6, 10-7.


Bard 9, Utica 0 (Box Score)
The Utica College women's tennis team lost Sunday afternoon to visiting Bard College, 9-0, in non-league play at the Utica College Tennis Courts. Doubles tandem senior Rose Zaloom and freshman Erin Churchill guided UC as they recorded six points in doubles play only to lose, 8-6, to Bard's No. 1 Julia DeFabo and No. 2 Albina Muzafarova. 

Zaloom recorded two points in singles play in the first frame however lost, 6-2 and 6-0.  Sophomore Doni Look and senior Nicole Johnson also fought in singles action however lost 6-2 and 6-1, in mirror fashion.
