Ithaca Cross Country Teams Present in National, Regional Rankings
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Both Ithaca College cross country teams earned spots in the
week one regional rankings by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The women's team also soared into the
national rankings.
The Bombers are ranked 17th nationally after sitting 28th in the preseason poll. The 11-position jump was the biggest positive move by a team outside the top 10. They also improved from fifth in the Atlantic Region rankings to third after a first-place finish at the Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational on Saturday.
The men's team, who was ranked seventh in the USTFCCCA preseason regional poll, dropped two spots to ninth. The Bombers placed second out of 14 teams Saturday at Rochester.
Ithaca returns to the course on Friday, Sept. 20th at the RPI Invitational.
