Stevens, Houghton and Alfred Run on Saturday
Monmouth Invitational
The Stevens Institute of Technology women's cross country team posted its best team finish of the season at the Monmouth University Invitational on Saturday in Holmdel Park, N.J. Stevens placed second overall with 60 points and five Ducks placed within the top 20 in scoring.
Seventy-one total runners competed on the 5K course and sophomore
Amy Regan crossed the line first overall in a time of 18:41.42. The next closer runner that competed for a college finished 29 seconds behind Regan.
Next to finish for the Ducks was freshman
Kathleen Kalbian in 10th overall with a time of 20:20.5, and right behind Kalbian was senior
Ashley Princiotta in 11th. Princiotta clocked a time of 20:37.12.
Freshman
Kaela Earrusso finished 18th in scoring and 27th overall with a time of 21:39.61, while sophomore
Janice Frontera was 29th overall and 20th in scoring in a time of 21:42.12.
Highlander Invite
Leah Williams were the top Highlander finisher at the 2013 Highlander Invite at the Field of Dreams on Saturday. Houghton finished seventh and Alfred finished eighth.
Williams once again lead the Highlanders with a fifth place finish in 19:22.36 on the 5K course. Cara Davenport finished in 38th place (
20:35.73), with freshman Joanna Friesen finishing right behind in 39th (20:36.58).
Alfred junior Tracie Forrester placed 58th on the five-kilometer course (21:15.51) to pace the AU women. Freshman Abby Hampson was 78th in 22:15.50 and sophomore Morgan Flick was 83rd in 23:04.91.
