ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College men's tennis team began its competitive season by hosting a round-robin invitational tournament. The Bombers were joined by Rensselaer, St. Lawrence and Mount Saint Mary. There was no team scoring or dual-match scoring at the tournament, and eight singles positions and four doubles matches were contested in most of the crossover matchups.

Three Bombers posted 2-1 records in singles play over the course of the weekend. Wes Davis (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) earned two wins at second singles over opponents from St. Lawrence and Mount Saint Mary. Chris Hayes (Rochester/Brighton), Justin Levine (Highland Mills/Monroe Woodbury) and David Andersen (Hastings on Hudson/Hastings) also went 2-1 in singles action.

Ithaca's second doubles team of Davis and Levine went 2-1 on the weekend, and the pairing of Griffin Reid (Bolton, Conn./Bolton) and Chris Hayes (Rochester/Brighton) posted an 8-3 win at third doubles against Mount Saint Mary.

The Bombers will return to action next weekend at the St. Lawrence Invitational.
