Elmira 3, Keystone 2
The Elmira College field hockey team (1-4, 0-2 E8) picked up a 3-2 win over Keystone College today.
Ashley Palmer '16 picked up two goals while

The Giants didn't take long to retaliate as a couple minutes later Christina Nevers '14 shot the ball towards the net and Jessica Fusco '14 was able to redirect the ball past Thomas.
The game would remain tied going into half-time, but once again the Purple and Gold came out with energy as Palmer would score her second goal of the game just under two minutes into the second half when she flicked the ball over the goalies pads. With just under five minutes left in the game

Keystone wouldn't go down easy as Katie Darling '14 was able to rifle the ball past Thomas off a pass from Kelsey Drozda '14 with under a minute remaining. Elmira was able to hold off Keystone in the final minute to pick up the win.
Stevens 7, Cabrini 3
Senior forward
Marguerite Chavez scored four goals to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team to a 7-3 win over Cabrini College Wednesday night at the De Baun Athletic Complex in Hoboken, N.J.
After a slow start, Stevens grabbed a stranglehold of the possession and field position, generating quality chances at will via its attack and on penalty corners.
Chavez and fellow senior and sister
Rachel Chavez hooked up for a picture-perfect score in the 21st minute. Freshman
Nolie Prouty picked up a loose ball and knifed down the middle of the field before finding
Rachel Chavez in stride near the top of the circle. She dribbled all the way down to the left side of the goal before crossing from the end line to
Marguerite Chavez in front who directed it in.
Moments later, Stevens went up 2-0 after a penalty corner. On the play,
Marguerite Chavez inserted to senior
Megan Traub, who then played give-and-go with sophomore midfielder
Erin Silvestri. Traub received a pass before finding senior back
Grace Ridge 10-yards out in the middle of the circle for a shot that deflected into the upper-portion of the goal. It was Ridge's second marker of the year and Traub's fourth helper.
The lead swelled to 3-0 at 26:51 of the first when
Marguerite Chavez converted a penalty stroke for her sixth of the year and second of the day.
Despite the early deficit, Cabrini scored once near the end of the first half and again on a stroke 17 seconds into the second to trim the Ducks lead to one at 3-2.
Stevens rebounded, slowing the Cavalier momentum, and eventually extending its lead back to two goals with a marvelous individual score from
Marguerite Chavez. On the play, sophomore forward
Dailyn Brook shot up the left side and hit Chavez with a pass. The senior then sliced through four Cabrini defenders, angling across the circle to her right and ripping a perfect shot back across the goal into the lower-left corner for her third of the contest.
The Cavaliers came back once again to make it a 4-3 game with 15:06 remaining on the back of junior forward Karlie Gruccio's second goal of the game, but Chavez's remarkable night continued as the veteran netted her fourth goal of the game thanks to assists from senior back
Grace Ridge and Silvestri. The play started with Chavez inserting on a penalty corner to Ridge. Ridge used a nifty fake before leaving a pass for Silvestri who then one-timed a shot at the left post that Chavez re-directed in.
With some insurance and time running out, Stevens tacked on a pair of tallies off the stick of Brook. The first came on a corner and was assisted by Traub, with the second coming via a deflection.
Chavez ended with the second-most points in single-game history, recording eight. She now has eight goals on the season. Brook had two goals and one helper, and Ridge had one goal and one assist. Freshman
Emily Stukenborg and sophomore
Felicia Heard split the game in goal for the Ducks, each making a pair of saves.
Stevens ended with a 29-12 edge in shots and a 15-13 margin in penalty corners. Genevieve Paulin made 12 stops for Cabrini.
