Stevens Vaults to No. 3 in Latest NSCAA Rankings

HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 3, 2013) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team has moved up to No. 3 in the latest 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire Division III College Rankings.

Ranked No. 13 in the Preseason Poll, the Ducks picked up statement wins over No. 20 St. Lawrence University and Clarkson University, defeating the Saints 4-1 and shutting out the Golden Knights, 5-0.  Freshman forward Jay Mikula (Howell, N.J.) led the team with three goals and an assist over just 74 minutes off the bench, while sophomore midfielder Colin Phillips (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) also bagged a brace against St. Lawrence.  The Ducks' defense has been nearly unbreakable to start the season, allowing just seven shots on goal.

Head Coach Devin Rensing and the Ducks will host NYU Polytechnic (0-1) in their home opener tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m.
