Houghton women's soccer got goals from eight different players and cruised to a 10-0 home win over Medaille College on Tuesday.

Danielle Lyndsley collected her first career hat trick, scoring goals in the 31st, 32nd and 60th minutes. Also scoring for the Highlanders: Stephany Ellison, Erin Miller, Jessica McDowell, Atalie Fite, Darlene Eckhardt, Bailey Shattell and Marjory Kauffman.

Houghton outshot Medaille, 37-0, and held a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Shawna Sprout started and played the first 49:10 in goal, with Andi Atherton playing 28:53 and Michelle Mahoney clocking the final 11:57.

Through two games, the Highlanders have outshot their opponents, 83-0, and outscored them 14-0.

Houghton is back in action on Saturday, September 7 when they host Clarkson University at noon on Burke Field.

Rochester 3, Alfred 0 (Box Score)
The Alfred University women’s soccer team lost, 2-0, to Rochester on the road, Tuesday evening.

The Lady Saxons faced a 2-0 deficit at halftime and Rochester netted another goal late in the second half to seal the win.

Senior Samijo Scheer went the distance in net for AU with five saves.

AU (0-3-0, 0-0-0 Empire 8) returns to action Saturday, Sept. 7th, at 3 p.m. heading to Hilbert College.
