The Utica College field hockey team won its third game in a row as it downed Morrisville State, 8-0 Friday night.  Junior Hannah Mackey (Locke, NY/Moravia Central) led the way for the Pioneers with three goals on the evening.

Utica jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as Mackey scored just 2:30 into the contest.  Junior Louise Steele-Norton (Avondale, PA/Millbrook School) followed that up with two goals in six minutes and Mackey and Angela Charles (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) each registered another tally to put Utica up 5-0 after the first half.

The second frame featured one goal each from Mackey, junior Alaina Stojkovski (Liverpool, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse), and freshman Emily Gascon (Chenango Forks, NY/Greene) to capture the 8-0 victory.  Gascon finished with one goal and two assists while Charles had a goal and an assist of her own.  Senior Ally Sanders (Endicott, NY/Maine Endwell) and sophomore Olivia Paisted each added a helper as well.

Utica outshot the Mustangs 22-1 on the day.  Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA/Kimball Union Academy), Olivia Cunningham (Bethlehem, NH/Profile) and Caitlyn Strapach (Union Springs, NY/Union Springs) split time in net for UC, totaling one save, while Meagham Mack and Nicole Gregg combined for 14 saves for Morrisville.  UC improves to 3-0 on the year while the Mustangs drop to 0-2.

The Pioneers return to action Sunday as they welcome nationally ranked No. 18 University of Rochester to Charles A. Gaetano Stadium for UC's home opener.  Game time is set for 2 p.m.
